About Me

mark weinstein, jazz flutist
I was a successful trombonist in the 60's playing with some great bands and recording an album, Cuban Roots that is considered a Latin Jazz classic. I left the music business to earn a PhD in Philosophy. I started playing the flute in my early 30's and it quickly became the focus of my life. After achieving tenure and job security I decided to live my dream and become an active jazz musician. I have recorded 19 albums on flute since 1996. This blog tells the story.
